What a long day! After work and driving around doing errands, I’m finally tucked into bed with my iPad. Someone needs to show me how to torrent eBooks and put it on my iPad. I have a dropbox account but it wouldn’t open the two files I downloaded. It’s $30 for the ebook I want to read! Granted, it’s the trilogy and your buying it for the sizzle, not the steak- I just can’t bring myself to spend $30 on bedside table mommy porn.
I’m half way through Fifty Shades of Grey. It’s every woman’s fantasy to marry a rich guy who has ruined the economy and inflicts pain on your body and psyche! o.0 But I guess this is better than your typical shrek story of a heroin who escapes the rich, controlling man for “true love.” I don’t see what the controversy is about this book. Is it the language? or just because there’s sex scenes in every other chapter? Are people scared that this would teach the younger female audience to think that fear is the same thing as love? If anything, maybe it will knock some sense into some people. Is this the first book out there that shows how a young, inexperienced mind can lead to distorted views about sex and love making? Wait, there was ‘I am the Cheese.’
For now I will teeter on liking this book for the complex feelings of the characters and the erotica. And hate it for the 9th grade Harry-Potter writing and I’m trying to understand why it’s a part of pop-culture right now. This story really isn’t original.
